Şekerbank Açıkekran in 11th Contemporary Istanbul with interdisciplinary artist Anthony Bannwart

Şekerbank Açıkekran New Media Arts Gallery will meet the art-lovers again this year in the 11th edition of Contemporary Art Istanbul, which is accepted to be one of the most prestigious art fairs of the world.

The video project of Anthony Bannwart, who works in an interdisciplinary structure in conceptual art, is going to be exhibited in the Açıkekran booth from the 3rd to the 6th of November, 2016 within the scope of Contemporary Istanbul.

Açıkekran New Media Arts Gallery is becoming guest in the 11th Contemporary Istanbul, which gets ready for uniting the art-lovers of Istanbul with the contemporary art, this time with interdisciplinary Swiss artist Anthony Bannwart. His conceptual video research and collection titled “Moving Images Evolutive Project, Tempography” will be exhibited in Açıkekran, booth no. B1 – 103, Art Institutions, Istanbul Congress Center.

The conceptual video work – research and collection- , which has been exhibited in London, Stockholm, Seoul, Sofia, Budapest, NYC, Paris, Washington DC, Hanoi, and Switzerland, of the artist Anthony Bannwart who has received education on fine arts, cinema, philosophy and literature will be exhibited for the first time in Turkey in Açıkekran booth at Contemporary Istanbul.

Anthony Bannwart  who searches the ‘poetic nature of the moving image’ with Tempography brings the daily images surrounding the human together with poetic details. By searching the conceptual means related to image, time and space with a cinematographic language, he reminds the philosophical and technical beginning of the cinema history.

Şekerbank that has conveyed the contemporary art to Anatolia with Açıkekran - Turkey's first art platform focused on the new media and video - through its branches continues to make contributions for exhibition of contemporary art works.
