Stating that they are happy as the prize has confirmed Şekerbank’s deep-rooted success in financing of the sustainable development, Şekerbank General Manager Servet Taze said:

“Having played a pioneering role in the market last year, our Bank had acquired the loan that is the first 5-year syndication loan of Turkey to support the energy efficiency investments of the SMEs in particular. Şekerbank’s responsible banking understanding arising from its foundation structure is appreciated on the international platform as well. We obtain an important part, such as 25 percent, of the total foreign-based resource we provide for the purpose of supporting the energy efficiency loans. By providing the funding we have obtained from foreign creditors to be used for the energy efficiency at long maturities, we bring such resources we have acquired to our broad-based customer segment in Anatolia especially, thus supporting the sustainable development.”

“We will continue our pioneering role in the financing of sustainable development”
Stating that they had provided over TL 682 million financial support until today for energy efficiency investments with EKOkredi, a first in Turkey they developed in the year 2009, Taze said, “In this way, we introduced energy saving to more than 80 thousand people in all customer segments,  7 thousand 822 of whom are our SME, craftsman, and farmer customers. It is very valuable for us that our works we have been carrying out to popularize energy saving within the scope of sustainability of the natural resources are appreciated by the international financial organizations as well. We will continue our pioneering role in the financing of sustainable development and energy efficiency.”
